Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality patient care in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit, focusing on continuous cardiac monitoring and acute patient management. This role requires strong clinical skills, experience with EMR systems, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients
- Monitor and interpret ECG rhythms using telemetry systems
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately in EMR
- Administer medications and IV therapies as prescribed
- Respond effectively to changes in patient condition and emergency situations
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
- Participate in shift handoffs and care coordination
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety, and infection control standards
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
- Active Ohio RN License or Compact State License (must be in hand at submission)
- Strong ECG rhythm interpretation skills
- Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records system (required)
- Ability to work night shifts, including every other holiday
Certifications (Required)
- BLS (AHA or equivalent)
- ACLS (AHA or equivalent)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) – must be obtained prior to start
