Job Title: Registered Nurse – Med/Surg
Location: New York, NY 10037
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Nights | 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM
Pay Rate: $55 – $60 per hour
Job Summary:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have recent Med/Surg experience and a strong background in post-operative care, medication administration, and patient education.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgery patients.
Administer medications safely and accurately, and document accordingly.
Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs, and manage specialized medical equipment.
Monitor patients’ vital signs and promptly report any adverse reactions or changes in condition.
Collaborate with the healthcare team on discharge planning.
Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures, recovery, and post-care instructions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient files, medical charts, and health records.
Adhere to nursing best practices, standards, and protocols.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital; experience must be within the last year.
Strong skills in physical assessment, medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and post-operative care.
Experience with patient education and telemetry monitoring.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with EPIC EMR.
Education:
Required: Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
Licenses & Certifications:
Required: New York State RN License with Primary Source Verification, AHA BLS
Preferred/Queens Only: AHA ACLS
