Job Title: Nurse Practitioner (Oncology Preferred)
Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Job Type: Contract – 15 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Weekly Hours: 42.5 Hours
About the Role:
Seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive patient care in an acute care setting. Oncology experience is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform patient assessments, evaluations, and clinical examinations
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Manage and monitor patients in acute care/inpatient settings
Document patient care and treatment plans accurately
Provide patient and family education
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Respond to changes in patient condition with timely interventions
Ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
Requirements & Preferred Skills:
Active New York State NP license required
NP specialty certification aligned with practice area required
Minimum 1 year Nurse Practitioner experience required
Inpatient hospital experience strongly preferred
Oncology experience highly preferred
Medicare NPI number or eligibility required
CPR and ACLS certifications required
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
