- 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated Donor Care Specialist (Phlebotomy) to support blood donor operations and ensure a safe, efficient, and compassionate donation experience. This role involves donor screening, blood collection, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards while supporting both in-house donor centers and mobile blood drives.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Screening & Care
- Perform donor eligibility screening in accordance with regulatory standards
- Conduct donor interviews and review medical history prior to donation
- Deliver a safe, respectful, and positive donor experience
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care
Blood Collection & Procedures
- Perform whole blood collections and therapeutic phlebotomy
- Support both fixed-site donor centers and mobile blood drives
- Obtain blood specimens from donors and patients as required
- Monitor donors before, during, and after procedures
Laboratory Preparation & Documentation
- Prepare, label, and process blood components and specimens
- Accurately document donor information, including deferrals
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance and regulatory standards
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment
- Follow infection control policies and safety protocols
- Adhere to emergency procedures and organizational guidelines
Inventory & Operational Support
- Conduct daily inventory checks and restock supplies
- Assist with ordering and maintaining appropriate inventory levels
- Support donor recruitment and outreach initiatives
Team Collaboration
- Deliver exceptional service to donors, patients, and team members
- Collaborate effectively with staff and leadership
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Professional Development
- Maintain required certifications and competencies
- Participate in ongoing training and continuing education
Required Qualifications
Donor Care Specialist I
- High School Diploma or GED
- Prior phlebotomy experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency
Donor Care Specialist II (Advanced Role)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of donor phlebotomy experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of blood groups and Rh typing
- DPT (ASCP) or QDP (ASCP) certification
- Active BLS certification
- Strong technical, communication, and teamwork skills
- Computer proficiency
