Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Acute Care Float Pool
Location: Syracuse, NY
Schedule: 5 shifts per week
Shift: 8-hour shifts (with requirement of 6 shifts per 2 weeks including every other weekend)
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join the Acute Care Float Pool team. This role supports multiple units, including high-acuity environments, delivering both direct and indirect patient care. The CNA will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety, comfort, and quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including bathing, feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance
- Obtain and record vital signs and report any changes in patient condition
- Assist with patient safety monitoring, including working as a safety companion when required
- Support nursing staff with daily patient care activities
- Maintain accurate documentation and effectively communicate patient information
- Respond to patient needs with compassion and professionalism
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to safety protocols
- Demonstrate knowledge of patient growth and development and adjust care accordingly
Required Qualifications
- Current New York State CNA Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Minimum of 1 year of patient care experience in an acute care setting
- Ability to pass pre-employment health clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a Level 1 Trauma or high-acuity hospital setting
- Prior float pool experience
