- Shift Times (Rotating):
- 06:00 AM – 02:00 PM
- 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM
- 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM
- 09:00 AM – 05:00 PM
- 10:00 AM – 06:00 PM
- 11:00 AM – 07:00 PM
- Additional: Occasional weekends and holidays required
Job Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled and compassionate Donor Care Specialist (Phlebotomist) to support a hospital-based blood program. This role involves recruiting, screening, and collecting blood from donors while ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality care and excellent customer service in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, screen, and manage blood donors in accordance with regulatory standards
- Perform whole blood collections, apheresis procedures, and therapeutic phlebotomy
- Support on-site and mobile/offsite blood drives
- Prepare, label, and handle blood components and specimens
- Accurately document donor records and maintain data integrity
- Monitor donor inventory and ensure adequate supply levels
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow all departmental policies, including safety and emergency procedures
- Assist in training and mentoring new staff
- Deliver excellent customer service to donors, patients, and team members
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Donor Care Specialist I:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Prior phlebotomy experience required
- National certification or accredited phlebotomy training preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong communication and computer skills
Donor Care Specialist II (DPT/ASCP or QDP/ASCP):
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of donor phlebotomy experience preferred
- Knowledge of blood groups, Rh types, and donation procedures
- Current DPT or QDP certification (required)
- BLS certification
- Strong computer and communication skills
