OVERVIEW:
The Principal Advisor, Market Access is a full-time employee responsible for quarterbacking thought leadership initiatives, functioning as a payor marketing specialist for an ophthalmology “Buy & Bill” brand.
The Principal Advisor, Market Access:
- leads and develop strategic recommendations for pharma clients in obtaining access and mitigating reimbursement challenges for “Buy & Bill” products and the ophthalmology biosimilar landscape
- fully understands Commercial health plans, Medicare Part B and Part C (Medicare Advantage), Medicaid (and other government programs), Specialty Pharmacy, Private Equity, and GPOs
- assists clients in creating business solutions and implementing strategies into tactical plans
- understands the client’s business needs, and drives agency partners to deliver on their objectives and KPIs
- becomes the “Brand Champion” who helps foster team-wide critical thinking and business acumen outside of tactical execution
- analyzes brand opportunities at various stages of product life cycles and is knowledgeable in the development of various marketing programs across the pharmaceutical industry
- works effectively on cross-functional teams with top decision-makers
- collects and analyzes meaningful competitive intelligence, trends, market dynamics, and customer insights that drives client awareness and action
- directs annual/semi-annual/quarterly strategic and tactical planning activities, internally and externally
- understands healthcare policy, access and reimbursement, pricing and contracting
- will foster relationships across all agency partners, including but not limited to Account and Creative teams, earning trust and confidence while ensuring work quality and final deliverables meet and surpass expectations
- must demonstrate an appetite to seek and digest subject matter with swiftness and ease and then articulate that new information quickly for client and agency partners

Optimize Access:
- Identify data gaps and develop strategies to uniquely position products for favorable market access considerations
- Must be able to own and proactively communicate key subject matter (HEOR, RWE, and key trends relevant to assigned brands) with confidence and ease
- Leverages industry knowledge to provide key insights and strategic recommendations for positioning a client’s business/products
Synthesize Data:
- Contribute to business development activities and brand planning through insights on landscape analysis, understanding of access drivers and competitors, and evaluation of evidence requirements to influence decision making. Part of this process may be to recommend purchase of secondary or syndicated data, or performance of primary qualitative or quantitative research within the organization
Optimize Execution and Quality Control Practices:
- In collaboration with agency and client partners, help develop compelling and strategically sound promotional materials that are on strategy and compliant with current FDA regulations
Leadership Presence and Motivation:
- Both internally and externally, represent the department and agency with confidence, emotional intelligence, integrity, and optimism
- Present, promote and defend agency capabilities with ease and adaptability
- Recognize the need for vendor partnerships and spearhead collaborations as needed
Ideation and Prototyping:
- Helps generate fresh tactical ideas, big and small, to execute strategic plans
- Partners across Navisync and vendors to iterate proofs of concepts
Client Consultation:
- Working independently, proactively interfacing with our clients to assess and articulate marketing challenges
- Collaborates with the client and other Navisync staff to develop positioning and messaging strategies, as well as strategic and tactical marketing communications plans
- Client-facing scenario planning and workshop moderation
- Leads and manages all annual brand planning activities for various clients
Solutions Advocacy
- Provides input throughout the creative development process to ensure all client deliverables are “on strategy”
- Ensures workstream integrity and function as a subject matter expert resolving any unforeseen issues that may surface
- Conduit to third party vendors who may be critical to the implementation of a given program
Situational Analysis
- Comfortable deciphering data, analytics, and unique dialogue from focus groups
- Ability to lead, execute, and review primary and secondary research (and select secondary research vendors as needed), as well as syndicated research sources, to identify key customer insights that define the most efficacious approaches
- Helps define key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure that strategies and tactics deliver against client goals and objectives
- Monitor the success of the programs to demonstrate customer value as well as to ensure that the strategy adapts to important client and market changes
PROFESSIONAL HISTORY & REQUIREMENTS:
• Degrees preferred: MBA; MPH; PhD; BS Pharmacy; Pharm.D.
• Preferred: Minimum 10 years’ experience as a market access consultant for pharmaceutical clients
