Position Overview:
A growing Private Client Services team is seeking a skilled Tax Manager to join the Houston office. The PCS Tax Manager will lead tax engagements for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, and closely-held businesses. This role involves providing technical guidance, ensuring compliance, and delivering proactive tax planning, while supervising and mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage tax planning and compliance engagements for individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, and other pass-through entities.
- Review and prepare complex individual and fiduciary tax returns; ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Research and draft tax memoranda on complex issues; identify planning opportunities.
- Advise clients on tax-efficient strategies for wealth transfer, entity selection, and multi-state issues.
- Manage engagement workflow, budgets, and deadlines; coordinate with team members.
- Supervise, coach, and develop PCS tax staff; provide technical guidance and performance feedback.
- Support business development initiatives and contribute to client proposals and networking events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Tax; Master’s in Taxation or JD preferred.
- CPA required.
- 5 years of progressive public accounting tax experience, including individual, fiduciary, and pass-through tax issues.
- Strong technical tax research, planning, and compliance skills.
- Excellent communication and client service skills.
- Leadership experience supervising and mentoring staff.
Salary : $130,000 - $175,000
