We are seeking an experienced Waste Field Supervisor to oversee and coordinate waste management operations in compliance with Department of Energy (DOE) regulations and shipping processes. This role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant handling, packaging, and transportation of waste materials from field operations to designated facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily waste management activities, including collection, segregation, packaging, and shipment preparation
- Ensure compliance with DOE waste handling and shipping requirements, including documentation and labeling standards
- Coordinate with transportation teams to schedule and monitor shipments of hazardous waste
- Conduct inspections and audits to verify adherence to safety and regulatory protocols
- Train and mentor field personnel on proper waste handling and DOE shipping procedures
- Maintain accurate records of waste inventories, manifests, and shipment tracking
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections or audits
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (No degree required)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in waste management or related field
- Strong familiarity with DOE waste shipping processes and regulatory compliance
- Knowledge of hazardous waste handling and transportation regulations (DOT, DOE, EPA)
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and regulatory guidelines
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Certifications
- HAZWOPER (40-hour)
- DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation Certification
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and perform moderate physical labor
- Must be able to wear required PPE and pass medical clearance for field work
