Compensation: $70,000 annual base salary 8% annual bonus opportunity
Sign-On Bonus: $1,400, paid upon completion of 30 days of employment

Position Summary
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting TranSouth's enterprise safety and risk management programs across field operations. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations — including DOT, FTA, OSHA, and ADA standards — while promoting a culture of safety and accountability throughout the organization. The Safety Coordinator will assist with driver training, incident investigations, safety audits, and regulatory reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Program Support: Assist in the design, implementation, and monitoring of safety protocols and policies across all operational sites. Conduct regular safety audits, vehicle inspections, and drills.
- Driver Training & Compliance: Support onboarding safety training for new drivers, coordinate continuing education and corrective action programs, and ensure training records are up to date.
- Incident Reporting & Investigation: Manage incident reporting processes and maintain documentation for all safety-related events. Assist with investigations into accidents, injuries, and complaints; collaborate with HR and Operations on corrective actions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure operations adhere to ADA standards. Prepare for and support regulatory audits or inspections. Track and report on safety KPIs and compliance metrics.
- Risk Management Support: Identify and escalate organizational risks related to fleet operations and workforce safety. Support insurance reviews and claims coordination.
- Technology & Reporting: Utilize fleet telematics systems (e.g., Samsara) to monitor driver behavior and vehicle performance. Analyze trends and produce regular safety reports for leadership.
- Culture & Communication: Champion a proactive safety culture through communication, recognition, and frontline engagement. Develop educational materials and safety campaigns in partnership with Operations.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in transportation safety, risk management, or a related field; NEMT or DOT-regulated environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, FTA, and ADA regulations.
- Experience with fleet telematics platforms and safety management software.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to produce reports and track compliance metrics.
- Valid driver's license required; willingness to travel to field sites.
