Job Description
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is hiring a Radiological Operations and Training Supervisor. The Radiological Operations and Training Supervisor will lead the newly formed Radiological Operations and Training unit, integrating Radiological Monitoring and Radiological Training functions at the Kesselring Site. This role requires a collaborative leader who can guide teams through organizational change, strengthen cross?site partnerships, and advance excellence in radiological operations.
This position requires qualification as a Supervisory Radiological Controls Technician (SRCT) and includes serving as a Radiological Controls (RadCon) Section Chief in emergency response.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team supporting radiological monitoring, training, and operational initiatives
- Oversee technical work across engineering, science, data analytics, and compliance
- Ensure nuclear safety and criticality control involving spent fuel, laboratory fuel work, and irradiated specimens
- Direct radiological operations and D&D activities involving significant radiological hazards
- Maintain ownership of laboratories and facilities, ensuring safe operation of high?energy and radiological systems
- Support the design and life?cycle management of nuclear assets
- Oversee packaging and handling of radiological and environmentally sensitive waste
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
Preferred Skills
- Demonstrated experience in radiological controls
- Proven supervisory experience, with the ability to lead teams through change in a positive and constructive manner
- Currently or previously qualified RCT
- Strong communication skills and experience managing work ranging from daily operational tasks to long term shutdown planning
- Excellent teaming skills with the ability to partner effectively with Knolls Laboratory and other stakeholders for issue resolution, resource allocation, and continuous improvement
- Ability to respond to abnormalities and casualties at all times
- Prior experience leading or supporting a radiological response
- Active DOE/DOD security clearance

Pay Range
Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
