Summary

You will serve as an Engineering Technician (Drafting) in the Design Division, Planning, Design and Construction Directorate of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will provide advice, solutions and assist the design and/or construction lead engineer on technical issues.You will support designs for existing facilities requiring extensive alterations, modifications, or repair.You will provide design and other technical support to NAVFAC MIDLANT and the commands served.You will prepare technical specifications and detailed labor and material cost estimates for use in obtaining project funding and bid for evaluation.You will prepare scopes of work and man-hour estimates for in-house work.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparation of designs, specifications and cost estimates for a wide range of shore facility projects; 2) Designs for facilities requiring extensive alterations, modifications or repair to extend their useful life to meet demands placed upon shore facilities; 3) Reviews project plans, specifications and submittals prior to contract aware and during execution for technical soundness, compliance with Navy requirements and to determine practicability from a construction management standpoint. Additional Information

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement.
