Duties

  • You will provide formal classroom and practical laboratory instruction utilizing approved course materials, training aides, and other media in the basic skills area.
  • You will perform curriculum maintenance for the course material and all associated practical testing faults, ensuring Instructor Guides, Student Guides, and Schematics are current and up-to-date.
  • You will participate in student evaluation and counseling programs and student advisory boards in accordance with current directives.
  • You will review and validate class schedules, to include classroom assignments.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current USN or Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Air Traffic Controller Course certification.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using advanced electronics to include V04B Digital Airport Surveillance Radar (DASR) and V03B Standard Terminal Replacement System (STARS) or Air Force MOS 1C8X3 Radar, Airfield & Weather Systems (RAWS) with proven experience in DASR/STARS; 2) Performing course instruction in an effective, efficient, and compliant manner, managing curriculum and performing administrative functions related to instructional assignment(s); 3) Performing work as an Airway Transportation Systems Specialist (ATSS) with proven experience in DASR/STARS in place of Navy NEC or Air Force MOS.

Individual Occupational Requirements (IORs)

Specialized Experience: Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:

  • Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
  • Supervising or administering a training program.
  • Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.
  • Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

IOR - Graduate Education: Major study -- your major must be in a subject area related to the position to be filled.

A master's or equivalent graduate degree;

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree;

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related.
