What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Operations Center Technician position at Navajo Tribal Utility Authority?
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Business Administration.
1 Year Network or Technical experience.
Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project Management and Access).
Valid Driver's License (subject to motor vehicle review).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Install, maintain, monitor, analyze and troubleshoot layer-1, Layer-2, and Layer-3 Network equipment and software in support of center operations.
Monitor the status of the NTUA Network and respond appropriately as Network issues/troubles occur, according to the escalation procedures for the Network Operations Center.
Provide excellent customer service to both external and internal customers.
Oversee and responsible on the status of all events per the escalation procedures for the Network Operations Center.
Plan and coordinate daily activities relating to the NOC to ensure its operational level for the customers.
Provide analyses of automation challenges and problems regarding the center.
Develop and identify technical solutions responsive to the needs of our customers and the center.
Ensure information reporting on center status and problem areas.
Recommend and provide procedures, policies and technical solutions in regarding the center that affects the customers.
Participates in planning and execution of hardware installations, cabling and other operations relating to the center systems and/or customers.
Ability to apply general knowledge of network and computer processes, technologies and systems in support of project team and customer issues/requests and completion of assignments.
Responsible for resolving production incidents by working with internal and external technology support organizations. Is accountable for owning the incident and driving through to resolution.
Performs initial tier 1 troubleshooting techniques in attempt to resolve incidents. Escalates using official escalation procedures when appropriate.
Responsible for managing service requests and executing standard changes with minimal supervision.
Ensures both customers and internal management are notified of outage situations.
Ticket management. Open, updates and close incidents. Communicates status to associates/management via approved communication processes.
Responsible for executing the daily, weekly, monthly operational monitoring and reporting.
Participates in 24/7/365 shift rotation. Is expected to have the technical knowledge and capability to handle most incidents/issues that may arise. Proactively puts procedures in place to prevent and reduce the severity of outages.
Responsible for developing and writing operations processes and procedures.
Follow structured change management processes.
Coordinates activities with vendors and customers as required.
Maintain and submit reporting on inspections, service visits, service issues, and site security.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
