What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Mechanic Helper position at Navajo Tribal Utility Authority?
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or GED certificate.
6 - 12 months experience in automotive/mechanical repairs.
Enrollment in the Apprenticeship Program is required in accordance with standards
Valid Driver's License, CDL Learner's Permit or CDL Class "A" with Hazmat Endorsement (subject to motor vehicle record review). Required to obtain a CDL Class "A" with Hazmat Endorsement within (6) months from date of employment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Assists other mechanics by cleaning, greasing and oiling company vehicles.
Repairs or replaces parts on vehicles and equipment as instructed.
Assists and performs preventative maintenance on company vehicles, equipment and specialized equipment as assigned.
Realigns front end and balances wheels.
Assists automotive mechanics in servicing and repairing heavy equipment.
Assists in cleaning the shop and surrounding areas.
Removes or disassembles worn parts.
Uses Authority owned equipment in a manner which subjects it to normal wear and tear only.
Updates SAP notifications with work performed.
Inventory control of vehicle parts and fluids.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
