- Assists attorneys in preparing for trials, interviews, hearings and client meetings
- Conducts legal research and writing of substantive motions involving constitutional issues in criminal cases
- Supports attorneys throughout the litigation process
- Assists with the preparation and filing of court papers
- Proofreads and cite-checks motions and briefs
- Organizes and maintains physical and digital case files
- Uses legal research software
- Maintains client confidentiality
- Follows office guidelines, policies and procedures
- Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, arithmetic, punctuation and grammar.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and legal forms.
- Skill in taking accurate notes and taking and transcribing dictation.
- Skill in data collection through personal interviews.
- Skill in effectively communicating verbally and in writing.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public.
