What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weekend Shipping & Receiving Clerk position at Nature Niche?
The e-commerce side of our small business is growing rapidly, and we are seeking an experienced shipping and receiving clerk to join our team part-time 12-24 hours per week! We specifically seek out a team member who is energetic, organized, enjoys physical labor, works with urgency, and is a team player. The job is to work with a team of people to fulfill 75-200 online orders daily, this is not a customer facing role. You will work with the store manager, shipping lead, and warehouse lead to successfully ship all orders received from the previous day's pickups to 2pm of the current day, in support of our fast shipping goal. We are in need of a "super shipper" to help us crunch through weekend orders, so if that title matches your skills and work ethic, please apply!
Hours of Work:
Shifts will be between 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Saturdays with a half hour lunch break, flexible shift on Sundays to be scheduled as needed based on order volume and inventory status. Additional hours available during the week, especially Fridays and Mondays, during peak seasons and staff vacations.
Pay:
From $15.50/hour, based on level of experience and skills.
Primary Duties:
- Pulling customer orders from our warehouse and retail floor using bins and a rolling cart.
- Verify accuracy of pulled items and neatly and securely package incoming online orders using a Shopify-based platform. Our shipping stations include a series of large tables for constructing cardboard shipping boxes and mobile anti-fatigue cushioned mats for standing. Electronics include iPads, a desktop computer, digital scale, and thermal shipping label printer.
- Carrying and moving boxes of inventory or bags of bird feed weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Organizing, tidying, & cleaning the shipping work area and maintaining shipping tools and equipment.
- Breaking down boxes for recycling or reuse.
Secondary Duties:
- Work with the warehouse lead to inspect, receive, and re-stock inventory to our warehouse and retail floor.
- Carrying boxes of inventory and moving pallets with a pallet jack.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to pick up and carry up to 40-lb boxes/bags of inventory and have the physical ability to wrangle a tape gun, climb a step ladder and lift boxes overhead, and work on your feet much of the day.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must exhibit good team working skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to use a computer and iPad to pick and ship orders.
- Attention to detail when shipping and receiving orders and processing incoming inventory.
- Must have good spatial awareness for efficiently packing orders.
