Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant with an interest in both accounting and tax preparation. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build hands-on experience in a supportive, growth-focused environment.
This role plays a critical part in supporting our expanding tax practice while maintaining core accounting functions. You’ll work closely with experienced professionals, gaining exposure to both tax compliance and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Preparation (Primary Focus)
- Assist in preparing federal and state tax returns for individuals and small businesses
- Gather, organize, and review client financial documents and information
- Prepare supporting schedules and ensure tax compliance accuracy
- Stay up-to-date on tax regulations and assist with compliance requirements
- Collaborate with senior team members to ensure timely and accurate filings
- Identify potential issues or opportunities and escalate as needed
General Accounting
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Record transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
Additional Responsibilities
- Support ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 0–2 years of accounting or tax experience (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks
- Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience with QuickBooks or tax software
- Exposure to tax preparation (internship or 1 year experience preferred)
- Interest in pursuing CPA or other accounting certifications

- 6 Months: Independently complete work accurately and contribute to team efficiency
- 12 Months: Handle more complex returns, support process improvements, and grow into a trusted team member
