Responsibilities

• Provide personalized customer service by understanding individual needs and recommending suitable products based on product knowledge and customer preferences.
• Conduct engaging product demos to educate customers about different strains, edibles, concentrates, and accessories.
• Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions accurately, including cash handling and processing payments efficiently.
• Assist with merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the store remains clean, inviting, and well-maintained.
• Promote upselling of products to enhance customer experience and increase sales revenue.
• Maintain compliance with all state regulations regarding cannabis sales and age restrictions.
• Utilize strong communication skills to answer customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy.
• Support inventory management through stock checks and assisting with product ordering when necessary.
• Lead by example in demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and fostering a positive shopping environment for all customers.

Experience

• 5 years previous retail sales experience required, especially within grocery stores or speciality retail environments.
• Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings.
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic retail math is essential.
• Experience conducting product demos or educational sessions enhances your ability to engage customers effectively.
• Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve diverse community members better.
• Strong communication skills combined with excellent phone etiquette will help build lasting customer relationships.
• Knowledge of the cannabis industry or related fields is advantageous but not required; a willingness to learn is key!
