Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies
- Handle laundry duties including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and clothing items
- Safely operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers, vacuums, and steam cleaners to maintain high standards of cleanliness
- Handle chemical agents responsibly by following OSHA guidelines for chemical handling and ensuring proper storage and disposal
- Follow strict sanitation procedures aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control standards
- Conduct manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of furniture or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, supply usage, and safety compliance in accordance with environmental services protocols
Qualifications
- Prior experience in janitorial services, healthcare facilities housekeeping, or commercial cleaning is preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to chemical handling, manual handling, and environmental safety protocols
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and consistently follow safety protocol adherence
- Familiarity with cleaning techniques for different surfaces including floor care and sanitation practices
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude towards clients and team members
- Experience operating cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, or steam cleaners is advantageous
- Healthcare infection prevention and control expertise is a plus but not required; training will be provided
