Nursery Team Member - Job Description

Summary & Responsibilities: A Team Member will be integrated into the wholesale Production Nursery. Team members will focus on production of shrubs, perennials, trees, annuals, and propagation. The team member is responsible for carrying out job duties as directed by their immediate supervisor or Team Leader. Team members will have the opportunity to work on a large scale “plant farm” where millions of plants are grown annually. Team members will have a hands-on approach as they learn the aspects of the Natorp Operation such as, but not limited to the following:

• Assisting on the potting lines or on set-down
• Assist propagation by seeding, taking cuttings and sticking cuttings
• Culturing plants – spacing, trimming, pruning, fertilizing, and weeding
• Assist order harvest & assembly – pulling a variety of plant material out of growing areas

Physical Demands:

A Team Member’s job requires a degree of physical endurance, an ability to work with and around a variety of plants and equipment.

• Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold and wet conditions
• Ability to work in a fast pace agricultural environment
• Ability to walk or stand on concrete or gravel
• Ability to bend, pull, reach, and lift a maximum of 50 pounds

Mental Demands:

• Ability to understand simple instructions (Written, Verbal and Demonstrated) and carry them out with minimal supervision
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere
• Ability to work independently

Starting Pay: $19.57 /hr

Full-time Positions available – 40 hour a week minimum required, Busy season OT available

PTO, Health, Dental, Vision – after 90 days

401K available – after 1 year

Salary : $20
