Job Summary

Under the direction of the Academy Principal, the Leading Edge (LE) Academy Teacher is responsible for providing a supportive and innovative learning environment that supports student achievement through a comprehensive, learner-centered curriculum that meets state standards. The LE Academy Teacher develops and implements project-based, cross-curricular hands-on learning activities that emphasize critical thinking and encourage creativity. The LE Academy Teacher must be adept at researching, designing and implementing innovative, hands-on lessons that address the diverse needs of middle school students. The LE Academy Teacher also supports students in demonstrating academic growth and ownership of learning through the creation of a portfolio of work throughout middle school. This portfolio reflects growth in the California State Standards, as well as the Natomas Charter School Expected Schoolwide Learning Results (ESLRs). Enthusiasm for working in a collaborative environment in which staff engages in cross-curricular planning and non-scripted curriculum is essential and individuals in this role must contribute to a positive, team-oriented staff culture. The LE Academy Teacher must provide a high quality educational program with the dedication and desire to go above and beyond to ensure that our students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
