Comments and Other Information

Natomas Charter School (NCS), established in 1993, is a California Distinguished School celebrating over 30 years of excellence in public education. Serving more than 1,800 students across grades TK–12 in five distinct academies, NCS consistently ranks in the top 10% of California public schools for graduation and college acceptance rates. Why Natomas Charter School Stands Out • Learning Guarantee: NCS is built upon three core pillars—Students First, Accountability, and Innovation—and designs curriculum that is purposeful, hands-on, and relevant to challenge and support today’s learners. • Diverse & Inclusive Community: Proudly serving one of the nation’s most racially, linguistically, and LGBTQ diverse communities, NCS fosters a well-rounded and inclusive environment with curriculum and staff members reflective of our students’ diverse identities. • Celebrated Academically & Artistically: The school frequently earns top local and statewide distinctions, including a Niche “Best Charter” ranking and national recognition for college prep and advanced arts programs. • Stable, Supportive Staff: With an annual staff retention rate often over 95%, many educators and administrators build long-term careers at NCS. The school provides CalSTRS and CalPERS retirement options. Five Unique Academies (TK–12) 1. Leading Edge Academy (6–8) – A small format middle school program that emphasizes hands on, project-based learning, technology, sports and community engagement. 2. PACT Academy (TK–8) – Homeschooling with community, where parents and educators’ work together to design curriculum that support each student’s needs and interests along with in person workshops and activities. 3. Performing & Fine Arts Academy (6–12) – An award-winning college-preparatory program that Integrates rigorous academics with intensive arts training. 4. Early Learning Academy (9–12) – A hybrid college preparatory program that makes use of online curriculum, in-person workshops, and college dual enrollment classes. 5. Star Academy (TK–5) – A comprehensive elementary program that focuses on developing strong math, literacy, science, and language arts skills, along with a focus on kindness and social emotional learning.
