Location: Youth Residential Treatment Center - 19909 SE Stark St, Portland, OR 97233

Schedule:  On-Call Hours

Wage Range:  $21.00 - $25.20 hourly

Position Overview:

Residential Assistants (RA’s) are responsible for attending to all youth-related needs during their scheduled work shift. This includes monitoring youth during their daily living activities and completing all relevant documentation, using trauma informed care to provide a safe environment for healing and recovery.

What you will do:

• Provide direct supervision to youth throughout daily treatment activities.
• Build positive, professional relationships with residents while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Conduct routine safety checks.
• Administer medications as authorized and maintain accurate Medication Administration Records (MARs).
• Utilize trauma-informed approaches to support youth emotional, behavioral, and recovery needs.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and structured environment.
• Support youth engagement in treatment goals, recovery activities, and daily routines.
• Supervise and assist with chores, personal responsibility tasks, and community living expectations.
• Complete required documentation, including daily logs, incident reports, medication records, and resident updates.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming living environment.
• Transport youth to appointments, activities, school, or other approved destinations as needed.

On-Call Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for planned absences, vacancies, and employee call-outs.
• Respond to shift coverage requests from supervisors and residential leadership staff.
• Maintain flexibility to accept shifts based on program staffing needs.
• Communicate availability and scheduling updates promptly and professionally.

All Residential Assistants must have:

• Driving is a requirement for this position
  • Current, active driver's license
  • Current, active auto insurance
  • Over the age of 23 (per our insurance policy)

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to set and maintain professional boundaries with youth clients and staff members
• Demonstrated ability to treat youth clients and staff with respect and dignity
• Pre-employment or for cause drug tests - including marijuana
• Criminal background and DMV checks
• CPR, CPI, and Food Handlers cards are required within 30 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

•  Experience in substance use/abuse treatment with youth
• Understanding of 12-step philosophy and youth treatment modalities.
• Addiction Counseling certificate or knowledge a plus
• Experience working within the Native American/Alaska Native community
