We are seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to improve the efficiency, quality, and reliability of a plastics manufacturing operation. This position will support production through process development, troubleshooting, automation, continuous improvement, and close collaboration with Production, Quality, Tooling, Maintenance, and Engineering.
Experience with twin-screw extrusion is helpful but not required. Engineers with transferable experience in injection molding, plastics extrusion, polymer compounding, automated manufacturing, or similar continuous manufacturing processes are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, improve, and support plastics manufacturing processes and production systems.
- Work with Quality and Tooling teams to resolve product defects, mold problems, and process nonconformances.
- Lead projects that increase efficiency, improve process capability, and reduce scrap.
- Design and implement manufacturing processes, workstations, production systems, and automation equipment.
- Troubleshoot process, equipment, tooling, material-handling, and automation issues.
- Partner with Maintenance and Engineering to improve equipment reliability, preventive-maintenance programs, and spare-parts systems.
- Develop work instructions, operating procedures, process documentation, and training materials.
- Train lead personnel, setup technicians, supervisors, and production employees.
- Monitor and audit manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Apply SPC and other data-driven methods to control variation and improve performance.
- Lead production-floor initiatives, assign responsibilities, and track results.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a closely related technical field.
- Approximately three to five years of processing, manufacturing, or automation experience; candidates with five or more years of directly relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Injection molding
- Plastics extrusion or compounding
- Polymer processing
- Automated manufacturing
- Continuous-process manufacturing
- Strong understanding of SPC, process capability, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting production processes and equipment.
- Ability to work effectively with Production, Quality, Tooling, Maintenance, and Engineering personnel.
- Strong organizational, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and support production-floor teams.
- Twin-screw or single-screw extrusion.
- Injection-molding process development.
- Polymer or resin compounding.
- Automation, robotics, material feeding, or conveying systems.
- Mold and tooling troubleshooting.
- Scrap reduction, DOE, Lean, Six Sigma, or preventive-maintenance development.
