The Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated production, packaging, processing, and facility equipment. This includes fillers, case packers, palletizers, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, ammonia refrigeration equipment, high-pressure boilers, air compressors, wastewater systems, and other plant utilities.

Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated production, packaging, processing, and facility equipment. This includes fillers, case packers, palletizers, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, ammonia refrigeration equipment, high-pressure boilers, air compressors, wastewater systems, and other plant utilities.

Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Maintain automated production and packaging equipment, including fillers, case packers, palletizers, and conveyors.
- Diagnose Allen-Bradley PLC-controlled equipment and related industrial controls.
- Troubleshoot variable-frequency drives, servos, sensors, motors, and control circuits.
- Safely troubleshoot and wire 480V three-phase electrical systems.
- Diagnose and repair low-voltage control systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and equipment documentation.
- Maintain pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and other mechanical equipment.
- Perform MIG, TIG, and arc welding as needed.
- Support plant utility systems, including boilers, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration, and wastewater equipment.
- Complete preventive and corrective maintenance while minimizing production downtime.
- Work closely with production and maintenance personnel to resolve equipment issues.
- Follow all plant safety, food-safety, and maintenance procedures.
- Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or processing environment.
- Strong industrial electrical controls background.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Experience troubleshooting and wiring 480V three-phase systems.
- Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley SLC 500, PLC-5, and Logix 5000 platforms, including program navigation and troubleshooting.
- Experience with VFDs, servos, low-voltage controls, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with conveyors, palletizers, case packers, pumps, gearboxes, and related manufacturing equipment.
- Welding experience using MIG, TIG, or arc processes.
- Strong judgment, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability and willingness to work second or third shift.
- Dairy processing, food manufacturing, or food-packaging experience.
- Experience with boilers, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration, or wastewater systems.
- Previous shift-lead experience or demonstrated leadership potential.
- $25-$35 per hour, based on experience and technical qualifications , before overtime or shift differentials
