Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (dump truck, trailer, etc.) to transport materials and equipment
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and comply with DOT regulations
- Load, secure, and unload materials using proper procedures
- Operate and adjust the screed to ensure proper depth, grade, and smoothness of asphalt
- Monitor asphalt distribution to maintain consistent mat quality and rideability
- Communicate with paving crew and paver operator to ensure efficient workflow
- Verify grade and depth using gauges and adjust settings as needed
- Assist with general paving duties, including equipment setup, cleanup, and maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance on trucks and paving equipment
- Maintain accurate logs and report any safety or mechanical issues

- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record
- DOT medical card (or ability to obtain)
- 2 years of CDL driving experience (construction preferred)
- 3–5 years of screed operation experience on commercial or DOT projects
- Knowledge of asphalt paving, grades, slopes, and screed controls
- Experience with CAT/Carlson screeds and paving electronics preferred
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and communication skills
