Security Officer – Unarmed (Welfare Office)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Full-time, 40 hrs/week)
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, paid weekly
About the Role
National Patrol Services LLC is hiring an unarmed Security Officer to provide professional security and front-line customer screening services at a Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) County Assistance Office in Chambersburg. This is a stable, weekday post with no nights, weekends, or holidays.
Key Responsibilities
Greet, screen, and direct visitors entering the facility in a courteous and professional manner.
Monitor the lobby, waiting areas, and building entrances; observe and report suspicious or disruptive behavior.
De-escalate verbal disturbances and contact local law enforcement when necessary.
Conduct routine interior and exterior patrols of the premises.
Enforce facility access policies and visitor sign-in procedures.
Maintain accurate daily activity reports (DARs) and incident reports.
Coordinate with DHS staff, supervisors, and emergency responders as needed.
Comply with all post orders, client requirements, and NPS standard operating procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
18 years of age or older.
U.S. work authorization.
Clean criminal background (must pass PA State Police criminal history check and child abuse history clearance).
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in security, law enforcement, corrections, or military service.
Experience working in a government, healthcare, or social services environment.
CPR/First Aid certification.
