Paralegal

Partners Professional Group is currently assisting our client searching for a Certified Paralegal with experience in Family Law. This position will be located in Chattanooga, onsite daily from 8:00- 5:00 and being offered as a contract to hire. Experience working in a professional law office and understanding the legal processes associated with being a paralegal is required. Communication skills verbally, written and in person that out exceptional is mandatory along with polished, professional presentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings by organizing case files and documents.
• Conduct legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis to gather relevant information for cases.
• Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests while ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
• Manage case files using document management systems and maintain up-to-date records for all ongoing cases.
• Interview clients and witnesses to gather pertinent information for cases.
• Proofread legal documents for clarity, grammar, and adherence to formatting guidelines.
• Collaborate with attorneys on case strategy and provide support during litigation processes.
• Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that may affect ongoing cases.
  
  

Experience

• Previous experience working in a law office is required
• Familiarity with Family Law is strongly preferred
• Understanding case management software is a plus.
• Strong interviewing skills with the ability to extract relevant information from clients effectively.
• Proficiency in document management systems to streamline case organization.
• Excellent proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Certification as a paralegal is required or comparative work history
