Role Summary
The Pharmacy Manager, PIC oversees daily pharmacy operations, ensures regulatory compliance, leads clinical and technical teams, and supports safe, effective specialty medication management.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge and ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations
- Review and verify prescriptions; oversee specialty drug therapy management
- Lead, train, and supervise pharmacists and pharmacy technicians
- Collaborate with intake, nursing, reimbursement, and quality teams
- Support staffing, workflow optimization, and performance improvement initiatives
- Provide patient counseling and serve as escalation point for clinical issues
- BS or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited school
- Active, unrestricted Massachusetts Pharmacist license
- Strong leadership experience in pharmacy operations
- Solid knowledge of specialty or infusion therapies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Sterile Compounding (USP 797)
- Connecticut Pharmacist license (or willingness to obtain)
- 3 years in specialty, infusion, hospital, or retail pharmacy
- Experience managing pharmacy teams
- Familiarity with CareTend and payer requirements
