Qualifications:
Specialized Experience Statement: Candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-10 level in the Federal service or private sector; documented experience with proven success/results in front line fundraising, including the ability to prepare high level foundation grant proposals, cultivate and manage a portfolio of foundation grants and prospects, and work across departments to achieve fundraising goals.

Responsibilities:
The Development Office is responsible for securing private financial support to sustain and expand the Gallery’s exhibitions, educational initiatives, conservation efforts, and other programs that advance the National Gallery of Art’s mission.
Duties for this position include;
- Identify, cultivate, and steward a portfolio of foundation donors and prospects.
- Prepare foundation grant proposals for donors and prospects.
- Manage special projects and events to cultivate foundation prospects.
- Work collaboratively within and outside the development department to support fundraising efforts.
- Prepare reports for foundation donors that assess impact and outcome of their giving.
- Provide centralized project management support to the development department by coordinating fundraising efforts for exhibition support.
