This position is an on-site position at our Kansas City, Missouri Headquarters.
Responsibilities
Vice President of Human Resources responsibilities include but are not limited to:
We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Human Resources. This is a high impact role leading the Human Resources function of a dynamic beef processing organization and responsible for human capital enterprise wide. The successful candidate will be a true strategic partner who is equally comfortable interfacing with hourly employees working throughout our processing facilities and able to present in meetings with executive leadership. This role requires focus on designing and delivering initiatives that support the organization’s strategic goals. We are seeking a dynamic individual with strong communications skills and a proven record of success.
Responsibilities:
- Complement, support and further the company’s goals through performance aligned with company values
- Create and implement employee programs to drive retention, engagement, and workforce planning
- Partner with the Vice President of Talent Development to advance talent management initiatives
- Manage Human Resources Operations activities to ensure compliance, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Manage, Grow, and Elevate the local HR teams to include the development of successful recruitment strategies, personnel policies and procedures, handbook updates, HRIS systems, and employee relations functions.
- Lead learning and development strategy to ensure a workforce with the capabilities, skills and competencies needed to meet business and succession objectives. (Union and Non-Union environments)
- Implement and manage workforce systems that drive desired performance behavior and employee development
- Assist in ensuring jobs are accurately paid to market through credible benchmarking, analysis, and market monitoring
- Champion change and leverage change management tools to support business plans
- Create strategies to attract and retain talent, improve performance and maintain a motivated work environment
- Regulatory Compliance
- Policy Development

Qualifications
Qualified candidates for the Vice President of Human Resources position should possess the following:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in human resources, business management or a related discipline required. SHRM, HRCI, or related professional credentials are preferred
- 15 years' progressive experience in HR management with demonstrated expertise in multiple key strategics (HR discipline, Workforce & Organizational Planning, Data Analytics, Lean Management (Systems Efficiency & Process Improvement)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; analysis and modeling expertise. Experience using a an HRIS/ERP solution; familiarity with market pricing tools (ERI, Marketpay, Payfactors, etc.;) strong data orientation, demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Broad knowledge of applicable labor and employment laws and compliance best practices, including the administration of effective employee policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels
- Experience with organizational design, workforce planning, performance management, succession, talent development, and compensation and benefits
- Experience in Food Manufacturing, Further Processing and Transportation
- Experience in Union Environments
