Major Responsibilities
- Media Relations & Communications Support
- Serve as secondary PR contact for Basketball and Referee Operations, assisting with media inquiries related to discipline, officiating and rules interpretations.
- Draft basketball-related press releases, media advisories and social media posts.
- Strategically pitch and place stories in national media outlets.
- Foster strong working relationships with members of the national media to facilitate ongoing coverage.
- Serve as the secondary contact for G League communications, including travel in support of tentpole events.
- Event & Awards Support
- Assist with media operations at NBA global events, including logistics and credentialing.
- Support communications efforts for annual season awards and All-Star voting for both the NBA and WNBA.
- Assist with international media operations, including accreditation, interview requests and coverage reports.
- Content Creation & Editorial Support
- Contribute to the pitch team by identifying and promoting compelling on-court storylines.
- Collaborate with the editorial team to develop creative assets and written content for NBA PR social and digital platforms.
- At least 2-4 years of experience working in a fast-paced sports and/or entertainment environment.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, journalism or a related field.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills
- Track record of meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality
- Excellent interpersonal skills and high comfort level working both as a team and individually
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with senior executives
- Familiarity with NBA basketball operations and officiating
- Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices for content creation and audience engagement
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud programs

Salary : $85,000 - $90,000
