Salary Range: $93,850 - $114,950 – Grade 29

Job Summary

The Web Developer plays a key role in shaping NASPO’s digital presence and user

experience. This position is responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining modern,

user-focused web content that supports NASPO’s mission and strategic goals. The role

involves close collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders to plan, develop, and

deliver web solutions that align with organizational standards, audience needs, and

technical requirements. The Web Developer ensures NASPO’s digital platforms remain

secure, accessible, and aligned with emerging technologies and best practices.

Essential Functions

  • Web Development & Delivery: Plan, build, maintain, and enhance websites,

features, and integrations within NASPO’s WordPress environment.

  • Project Management: Oversee multiple short-term and long-term web initiatives,

balancing priorities, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Translate stakeholder requirements, wireframes,

and design concepts into functional, responsive, and user-friendly web experiences.

  • User Experience (UX): Apply UX and accessibility best practices to ensure websites

are intuitive, mobile-friendly, and inclusive.

  • Technical Problem Solving: Research, analyze, and resolve complex web

development issues; escalate and collaborate with senior staff as appropriate.

  • Process Improvement: Analyze and refine cross-departmental workflows to

improve efficiency and project outcomes.

  • Design Guidance: Provide input on web design to ensure alignment with

organizational standards and internal client needs.

  • Technology & Trends: Monitor emerging technologies, tools, and trends to ensure

continued alignment with industry best practices.

  • Infrastructure & Integrations: Troubleshoot hosting, DNS, API, and integration

issues; coordinate with third-party vendors as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Information

Technology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and

professional experience.

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of professional web development experience.
  • Proven expertise with WordPress, including custom themes, plugins, and

integrations.

  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and modern web frameworks.
  • Experience integrating APIs and working with RESTful and SOAP services.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (including AWS Lightsail) and Cloudflare.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing accessibility best practices (WCAG 2.1).
  • Familiarity with SEO fundamentals and site performance optimization.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (GitHub preferred).
  • Understanding of security best practices for WordPress and hosting environments.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to translate design concepts and wireframes into standardscompliant code.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and

deadlines.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  • Occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • Continually required to sit, talk, and hear.
  • Continually required to use hand and finger dexterity.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
  • Air travel and overnight stays required approximately 3–5 times per year.
