Position Snapshot

  • Position Title: Maintenance Superintendent
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7AM to 3PM

Why This Role Matters

The Maintenance Superintendent provides strategic leadership for the maintenance and reliability function, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment, facilities, and infrastructure. This role partners closely with Operations and other departments to minimize downtime, improve equipment performance, lead maintenance personnel, and implement reliability strategies that support long-term operational success.

What You'll Do

  • Lead all maintenance operations supporting facility infrastructure, production equipment, and mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Develop and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs that maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate maintenance activities, shutdowns, outages, and repair work to support production requirements.
  • Recruit, coach, develop, and mentor maintenance personnel while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor equipment performance, analyze reliability trends, and implement root cause corrective actions to improve overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Manage maintenance work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, equipment histories, and maintenance documentation through CMMS and other systems.
  • Oversee maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, contractor services, and maintenance resources to ensure efficient operations.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, and Laboratory teams to support continuous manufacturing operations and capital improvement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all maintenance safety programs, OSHA requirements, environmental regulations, and company policies.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Seven or more years of progressive maintenance experience in manufacturing, metals processing, foundry, mining, chemical processing, or another heavy industrial environment.
  • Three or more years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience with responsibility for planning, scheduling, employee development, and maintenance operations.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and facility systems.
  • Experience utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to manage maintenance activities and reporting.
  • Experience leading equipment reliability initiatives, root cause analysis, maintenance planning, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance budgeting, inventory management, spare parts control, contractor management, and capital project support.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, hot work, machine guarding, and other maintenance safety requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, communication, conflict resolution, and team development skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing software applications.
  • Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) or other maintenance, reliability, or technical certifications are preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency maintenance situations as operational needs require.
