We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Vice President, Human Resources to join our executive leadership team. This is a unique opportunity to lead Human Resources for a mission-driven healthcare organization where your expertise will directly influence organizational culture, workforce excellence, and patient care outcomes.
Position Summary: The Vice President, Human Resources serves as a key strategic partner and trusted advisor to the President/CEO and senior leadership team. This role provides visionary leadership across all Human Resources functions, ensuring alignment between HR strategy and organizational goals while fostering an engaged, high-performing workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a collaborative partner to operational and clinical leaders to align HR strategies with business and clinical objectives
- Provide executive leadership over all HR functions, including:
- Talent acquisition and workforce planning
- Employee engagement and retention
- Compensation and benefits strategy
- Employee and labor relations
- Organizational development and leadership development
- Advise the President/CEO on strategies to maximize workforce effectiveness in support of hospital and nursing home operations
- Lead and support collective bargaining negotiations and ensure consistent administration of HR policies and union contracts
- Represent the organization in communications and interactions with government agencies and regulatory bodies
- Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and healthcare regulations
- Foster a culture of trust, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred
- Professional HR certification such as SPHR or SHRM-CP preferred
- Progressive leadership experience in Human Resources
- Healthcare experience preferred, ideally within a hospital or health system
- Demonstrated experience in labor relations and union environments
- Strong strategic, organizational, and leadership skills
- Proven ability to build strong partnerships with executive, clinical, and operational leaders
