What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Care Technician - SCU position at Nathan Littauer Hospital?
Description: The Patient Care Technician provides basic nursing care to patients, transports patients within the hospital and monitors a safe and clean environment. The Patient Care Technician provides clerical support, including order entry as the patient care and patient flow requires. Work is performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in accordance with established hospital standards, nursing department structure and standards, established regulatory and accreditation requirements and the individual patient's special or age related needs.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- American Health Association Basic Life Support (BLS) with in six months of hire, three (3) months for Emergency Department and Float Pool.
- One (1) year experience as a Nurse Assistant or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.
- Previous Medical/Surgical experience preferred.
Delete 40 hour Ward Clerk position in SCU, and Create 40 hour PCT position. 5- 8 hour shifts: 1445-2315
