What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Supervisor position at Nassau Inn?
SUMMARY OF ROLE: Full Time Seasonal
Maintenance is what keeps the motel running smoothly. To deliver a great guest experience – a Maintenance representative will make sure that everything is working and in good operating condition so that guests are safe and comfortable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
1. Complete minor repairs such as drywall repairs, filters, light bulbs, painting, troubleshooting plumbing and electrical conditions, etc.
2. Perform preventative maintenance duties as detailed by Company procedure
3. Monitor efficiency of equipment and electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, guest entrances/access doors, television sets, appliances, lighting systems and make minor repairs and/or replacements to ensure everything is working properly and efficiently at all times
4. Maintain/manage the safety and cleanliness of the exterior of the facility, grounds and pool (including signage and lighting)
5. Ensure the security of inventory and assets such as tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, televisions, etc., suing established motel procedure
6. Follow established safety procedures at all times. Immediately report any health and safety incidents, unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor or manager on duty
7. Understand and maintain guest service standards and policies
8. Expedite completion of work tickets produced by guests and co-workers
9. Maintain compliance with governmental and safety regulations
10. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical skills, preventative maintenance procedures, and reasonable understanding of building equipment and hand tools
Accuracy and speed for executing assigned tasks and job responsibilities
Communication skills are used frequently when interacting with the other hotel staff and hotel guests
Reading and writing abilities are used to document or record all tasks completed, to receive instructions for the day or to read repair manuals
Ability to exercise good judgment and self-control
Ability to prioritize responsibilities and be self-sufficient in periods of reduced occupancy
Mathematical skills, including basic math, are used frequently
Must demonstrate enthusiasm, trustworthiness, personal integrity and honesty
Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to multi-task and meet job responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to operate safely in the workplace
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
Ability to work a variety of days, including nights, weekends and holidays
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
