What are the responsibilities and job description for the End-User Training Specialist – ERP Software position at Nassau County?
The Nassau County Comptroller’s Office is seeking an experienced enterprise financial system Training Manager to support the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a transformative project that will modernize the County’s financial operations and improve efficiency across government.

Key Duties:
· Assess training needs and requirements related to user adoption.
· Collaborate with key stakeholders, subject matter experts, and department heads as appropriate.
· Collaborate and work closely with the County’s Organizational Change Management Team.
· Develop training curriculum, materials, user-friendly documentation, quick reference guides, reference materials, and e-learning modules.
· Conduct training sessions, workshops, and webinars for end-users, administrators, and support staff.
· Tailor training approaches to different user groups, ensuring that all levels of expertise are addressed.
· Maintain detailed records of training activities, participant progress, and program outcomes.
· Maintain open communication with key stakeholders, including department heads, IT teams, and end-users, to align training objectives with organizational goals.
· Measure training effectiveness by monitoring trainee progress through assessments, surveys, and exercises to evaluate effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement.
· Design and develop additional materials for future enhancements and product updates. Create necessary materials and programs to support ongoing learning.
· Work with the vendor to develop and execute Knowledge Transfer plan.
· Update training materials with each software release.
· Deliver ongoing training and new-hire onboarding.
· Manage the software knowledge base and training content.
· Support user communications and feedback after releases.
Performance, Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:
· Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience preferred.
· Proven experience with the development and execution of training plans/programs.
· Excellent time management capabilities.
· Exceptional oral, written, and presentation skills.
· Ability to build relationships at all levels within and outside of the organization.
· Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat.
· Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and eLearning development tools, virtual training platforms (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams, WebEx).
· Experience training public sector/government organization preferred.
Education:
1. Bachelor’s degree with a major in information technology, business administration, accounting, finance, economics from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university and three years of satisfactory financial/ERP systems experience. OR
2. Bachelor’s degree with a major other than listed above from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university and five years of satisfactory financial/ERP systems experience.
