What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Cybersecurity Specialist (Direct Hire) position at NASA Headquarters?
You will serve as a Cybersecurity and Privacy Specialist supporting the Chief Privacy Officer (CPO), advising senior leadership on the NASA Cybersecurity and Privacy Program, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements, and Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) compliance. You will ensure privacy needs for emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI), evaluate policies to improve performance, ensure legal adherence, and help safeguard NASA's sensitive information.
To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level.
IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
Qualifications:
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level.
- Collaborating with mission/business partners to formulate and implement cybersecurity services and solutions;
- Analyzing and resolving IT issues to ensure consistent service delivery and cybersecurity compliance;
- Evaluating or validating compliance within privacy programs, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) frameworks, intended to brief leadership on results and implications.
