What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Chocolatier position at Narenj Chocolate?
The Assistant Chocolatier supports the Head Chocolatier in the daily production of high-quality, artisanal chocolate confections, ensuring all products meet the company's standards for taste, presentation, and consistency. This role requires a strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for the art of chocolate and confectionery.
Production & Preparation
- Assist in the preparation of chocolate products, including but not limited to, truffles, bonbons, bars, dipped items, and seasonal specialties.
- Accurately measure and prepare ingredients for fillings (ganaches, caramels, fruit purees, etc.) following established recipes.
- Aid in the crucial process of tempering chocolate using various techniques and equipment (e.g., tempering machines or marble slabs).
- Assist with molding and demoulding chocolate pieces and figures.
- Perform hand-dipping and enrobing of various centers.
- Execute basic decoration and finishing techniques for confections.
Kitchen Operations & Sanitation
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized production kitchen and workstation in compliance with all food safety and health regulations.
- Clean and maintain specialized equipment, including tempering machines, molds, and production tools.
- Assist with the washing, drying, and polishing of chocolate molds to ensure a high-quality finish on all products.
- Monitor and record temperatures for chocolate, fillings, and storage areas as directed.
Inventory & Support
- Assist with receiving, labeling, and organizing raw materials and finished products, including chocolate, cocoa butter, nuts, and flavorings.
- Help manage inventory, reporting low stock levels to the Head Chocolatier or Production Manager.
- Assist with the accurate and attractive packaging and labeling of finished confections for retail or wholesale orders.
- Perform other general kitchen duties as assigned, which may include lifting up to [Specify Weight, e.g., 50 lbs]..
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 20.0 per week
