Job Summary
The Supervisor Cardiac Rehab supervises and coordinates quality patient-centered care and for assuring that patient needs including physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional are met in the Cardiac Rehab Program during their assigned shift. This position participates in unit committee and quality improvement activities. Needs minimal supervision.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Dynamic, rapid, and complex decision making to assure that patient safety and department flow are maintained at all times by balancing (list not all inclusive) available resources, patient acuity, skill mix of staff, patient surge, and patient volume.
- Maintain professionalism, provide great customer service and promote structure within the cardiac rehab sites.
- Serves as an expert in Cardiac Rehab Documentation/LSI/Scott Care and CMS compliance resource.
- Develops plans that includes strategies to attain expected outcomes.
- Runs and maintains daily huddles at various locations.
- Coordinates care delivery.
- Manages multiple and unpredictable complex patients situations as they present.
- Resources for staff, patients, and families.
- Manages staffing and staff allocation, often times on an hour by hour basis, independent from the staffing office.
- Coordinates staffing including floating and COHING throughout shift with other departments in the NCH system.
- Participates in annual performance review process.
- Participates in peer interviews.
- Provides immediate constructive feedback to staff regarding expectations of care delivery and standards of excellence.
- Distributes formal coaching to staff under the direction of the Manager of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab
- Model standards of excellence behavior at all time and provide immediate service recovery when needed.
- Proficient in disaster preparedness and response.
- Takes a patient assignment to facilitate flow.
- Minimum of BS in related field required.
- RN or Exercise Physiologist with previous Cardiac Rehab experience.
- Minimum of 2 year of experience in Cardiac Rehab Program required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Supervisor/ leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
