Substitute Custodian

On an as needed basis, work as a Custodian at a District site. Main duties include:

• Cleaning classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, gyms, bathrooms, offices, and other rooms within a school or office site.
• Cleaning floors including mopping and vacuuming.
• Emptying trash
• Performing set ups which may include moving furniture, chairs, tables, and other large items
• Other duties as assigned by the shift supervisor.

Requirements:

• Flexibility to work at multiple sites
• Ability to accept work with short notice
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
• Ability to be standing/walking for an 8 hour shift
• Ability to push/pull garbage cans, carts, vacuums, brooms, etc

Working Environment and Physical Requirements:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting of at least 50 pounds, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 50%walking, and 50% standing. The job is performed under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness and with use of chemicals, light equipment, and hand tools. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.
