Nurturing, Safety-Focused Nanny Needed for 10-Month-Old Baby

Location: Township of Washington, NJ (Bergen County)

Schedule:
Part time, 16 hrs per week
Monday, Wednesday & Thursday: 8 AM–12 PM | Friday: 6:00 PM–10:00 PM
*Extra hours available for occasional date nights or day outings.

Length: Approximately 6 months (August 2026 – January 2027)

Start Date: August 2026

Pay: $30-$40/hr, depending on experience

About the Child:

Child A (10 months old): An inquisitive baby who is beginning to explore the world through movement and everyday interactions. The family follows a baby-led weaning approach and values opportunities for independence. They appreciate a Montessori-inspired philosophy, encouraging the child to participate in simple daily activities and learn through hands-on experiences. Physical development is a priority, including practicing standing and walking skills as appropriate. The family also encourages ongoing narration throughout the day to support language development.

Requirements:

• Drivers license and/or vehicle NOT required
• Punctuality is necessary
• COVID-19 vaccines: Initial two-dose series required (no boosters required)
• Flu vaccine NOT required

Responsibilities:

• Provide attentive, hands-on care for a 10-month-old infant
• Follow the family's baby-led weaning approach during meals
• Encourage physical development through supervised movement and walking practice
• Narrate daily routines and activities to promote language development
• Plan engaging, age-appropriate developmental activities using Montessori-inspired methods
• Maintain a safe, calm, and reasonably tidy play environment
• Care will primarily take place within the home, with occasional park outings when the mother drives

Important Notes:

• Strict confidentiality is required.
• This is a home-based position; the nanny will not be responsible for driving the child.
• The family has one cat and one 30-pound rescue dog. Being comfortable around dogs and cats is required.
• Swimming skills are NOT required.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
