We are seeking a detail-oriented PO / Item Creation Specialist to join our Operations team. This is an entry-level role ideal for a candidate who is highly organized, comfortable working across multiple systems, and eager to build a career in retail operations and supply chain. The Specialist will support two core functions: the accurate and timely issuance of purchase orders to our overseas production partners, and the setup and maintenance of items across internal and customer-facing systems.
This role reports to the Operations / Item Creation Lead and works closely with Planning, Replenishment, and Warehouse teams, as well as external factory partners.
Key Responsibilities
Production Purchase Order Management
- Issue purchase orders to overseas production partners (factories) in NetSuite based on demand signals from the Planning and Replenishment teams
- Track production purchase order status from issuance through factory acknowledgment, production, and shipment
- Maintain accurate purchase order records, including quantities, costs, ship dates, and routing details
- Coordinate with overseas factory partners to confirm production timelines and resolve discrepancies
- Support the Operations team in monitoring on-time delivery performance and identifying potential delays early
- Assist with order maintenance activities, including updates, cancellations, and revisions as program needs evolve
Item Creation and Maintenance
- Set up new items in NetSuite and customer systems with accurate specifications, dimensions, and routing data
- Maintain item records throughout the program lifecycle, including updates and end-of-life changes
- Partner with internal teams to ensure item data integrity across systems
- Support continuous improvement of item creation workflows as the function evolves within the Operations team
General
- Partner with the Warehouse team to ensure inbound shipments are properly documented and routed
- Contribute to ongoing process improvement efforts and help formalize standard operating procedures
- Provide backup support for related operational functions as cross-training opportunities arise
Qualifications
Required
- 0-2 years of professional experience; recent graduates encouraged to apply
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort learning new software systems
Preferred
- Experience with NetSuite or another ERP system
- Exposure to retail, supply chain, apparel, or wholesale operations
- Familiarity with Walmart supplier systems (Retail Link, NOVA) is a plus but not required
- Internship or coursework in supply chain, logistics, business operations, or a related field
