Job Description
We are seeking a State of Alaska licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our team on the North Slope of Alaska. The primary responsibility of this role is to terminate cables in panels, junction boxes, and instruments, working in both indoor and outdoor environments under Arctic conditions.
Responsibilities
- Perform power, control, and instrumentation cable terminations in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Read and interpret one-line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, and power diagrams to execute proper terminations.
- Work in a variety of environments, including outdoor locations exposed to extreme cold and indoor areas requiring precision work.
- Ensure terminations are completed with proper techniques to meet electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Troubleshoot and verify electrical connections to ensure proper functionality.
- Maintain a high standard of safety, quality, and efficiency in all electrical work.
- Stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks in remote, harsh conditions.
- Follow and enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure electrical safety.
- Immediately report all Incidents/Accidents, no matter how small, to their Supervisor.
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
- Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Must hold a current State of Alaska Journeyman Electrician License.
- Experience with power, control, and instrumentation cable terminations.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, schematics, and cable schedules.
- Strong knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and electrical safety practices.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions, including cold temperatures and high winds.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all site-specific policies.
Preferred
- Previous experience working in remote, industrial, or oilfield environments.
- Familiarity with North Slope work practices and regulatory compliance.
- Experience working in rotational schedules (e.g., 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off).
- Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy preferred.

The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. Steel toed boots required on the job.
The North Slope is a remote location which requires a rotational work schedule. Living/room accommodations are provided. NANA Construction expects employees to keep cleanliness throughout their living space.
Travel may require an employee or contractor to pass a TSA security checkpoint.
