The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies - Insurance Company (NAMICO) has a new opportunity for a Business Systems Manager in our Data Department. The Business Systems Manager oversees and optimizes technical integration between NAMICO’s core systems (Insuresoft/Diamond) to ensure secure, accurate data flow and seamless operations. This role coordinates with internal teams and vendors to implement, document, and improve software systems in support of organizational goals.
Essential functions of the position include:
- Serve as the main point of contact for staff regarding issues with the Insuresoft Diamond (Diamond) system.
- Submit and track trouble tickets to ensure issues are addressed promptly.
- Serves as the main point of contact with Insuresoft on functional requirements and managing deliverables.
- Make configuration changes within the application as they pertain to business operations.
- Coordinate communication between department heads to ensure that everyone is in alignment when changes are requested that affect business decisions.
- Manage and maintain database environments, including performance monitoring, security, backups, migrations, and ongoing optimization.
- Support application and system integrations by troubleshooting issues, writing and optimizing queries/scripts, and partnering with development teams.
- Lead cross‑departmental software and integration projects, including planning, requirements gathering, vendor coordination, testing, and delivery.
- Ensure system reliability, scalability, disaster recovery readiness, and compliance with data governance and security standards.
- Maintain integration governance, data mapping, configuration logic, and standardized documentation to support adoption and auditability.
- Serve as the primary system project contact for NAMICO and NIA departments, providing dashboards, status updates, risk assessments, and leadership communications.
- Drive continuous improvement through evaluation of workflows, automation opportunities, testing coordination, issue tracking, training, and documentation.
- Manages change request process.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 3 years of experience managing technology or software integration projects
- Proven experience as a database administrator with hands-on experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to deep dive into technical problems
- Solid understanding of database theory, architecture, data mapping, data governance and performance tuning techniques.
- Understanding of property/casualty insurance, information technology and business analysis fields.
- Proven ability to plan and deliver cross-departmental technical projects on time.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Insurance policy administration systems (PAS).
- Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and must possess an acceptable MVR.
Preferred:
- Experience with Insuresoft/Diamond Software
- Experience with MS Dynamics 365
- Experience with Microsoft product suite and project management tools
- Experience with tools to support integration monitoring, automation, system connectivity, and data validation.
- Experience in insurance company or agency IT operations management
