What are the responsibilities and job description for the Support Services Program Coordinator position at NAMI DuPage?
Directly provide and/or ensure the following:
1. Support planning, coordination, and scheduling of all Support Programs:
· Schedule meeting rooms for 1:1 Peer Support
· Support Group meetings, inclusive of:
o Connections
o Family Support Group
o Parent Roundtable
o Suicide Loss
o Dual-Diagnosis
o LGBTQ ,
o Specialty Courts
o Chai & Chat
o Others, as needed
· Field site schedule, in coordination with Director of Peer Workforce Development
· Coordinate with any Partner locations in coordination with Director of Peer Workforce Development
· Crisis Support:
o Schedule LR Recovery Support Specialists
o Schedule Family Walk-In Support FPP’s
o Ensure that the LR is organized and well stocked with program literature
o Ensure the LR is clean, and promotes a comfortable and soothing space for those in crisis
2. Help update and maintain Support Program in Theranest, and DonorView Database, and Google Form statistics:
· Be able to provide up to date numbers for Support departments on short notice in an organized and comprehensive way
· Analyze various evaluations’, feedback, and suggestions, in coordination with Support Department staff
· Participate in updating evaluation forms based on feedback and on need
· Review information entered by RSS’s and FPP’s into databases and spreadsheets is accurate
3. Support planning, coordination, and scheduling of all Education Classes (Family-to-Family, Basics, Peer-to-Peer, WRAP, etc.):
· Keep up to date calendars on education classes in Excel and Google calendar
· Aid Support staff in developing and scheduling all education classes for each program year by coordinating with the education class teachers and collaborating with class hosts to determine availability of location
· Manage materials for instructors including monitoring, reordering, and replenishing of materials
· Regulate online registration for all education classes including screening registrants based on class eligibility criteria
5. Review Stipend requests for support department and approve, or work with RSS/FPP for updated information
6. Safeguard confidential information
7. Attend and participate in monthly all-staff meetings, monthly program leader meetings, fundraising events, and other events
8. Comply with all NAMI DuPage policies
9. Project a positive image of the Organization and its programs to the community
10. Works with both solid-line and dotted-line supervisors in planning and implementing work and carrying out duties and responsibilities.
11. Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-year college degree in human services field
- At least 1-year work experience in a human service, customer service, or medical field. At least 2-3 years of experience is preferred.
- Has lived experience as an individual or is a family member of someone with mental illness
- Ability to relate effectively with families, community members, and staff of diverse backgrounds, personalities, and communication styles
- Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and other databases as required
- Excellent listening and reflective listening skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented with good writing and organizational abilities.
- Must possess good problem-solving skills, be resourceful and take initiative when needed
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal skills in volunteer management
- Organized: can prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Must be flexible and willing to support the work of a non-profit by taking part in fundraising events and other outreach activities
- Ability to network within the community and work with diverse populations.
- Ability to summarize and extrapolate important information from meetings and conversations for developing new forms and documents
- A commitment to recovery, choice, empowerment, and the ability of people with serious mental illness and their family members on the road to recovery
- Ability to establish a trusting relationship with clients, stakeholders, and community constituents
- Team player and collaborator
- Conflict resolution training/experience a plus
- Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 per week
