POSITION: Information Technology Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Administration / Operations
SUPERVISION: Executive Director, Nambé Pueblo Housing Entity
CLASSIFICATION: Full Time — On-Site
COMPENSATION: D.O.E. — upper range for candidates with fuel-retail systems expertise
The Information Technology Specialist is a full-time, on-site position employed by the Nambé Pueblo Housing Entity (NPHE) and based at the NPHE office on Nambé Pueblo. The position is designed for someone who will take full ownership of hardware, systems infrastructure, and technology integrations for NPHE, with the scope of work expected to expand over time to support the Pueblo of Nambé tribal government and the Nambé Pueblo Economic Development Corporation (NPDC). The IT Specialist is expected to be proactive in maintaining systems, coordinating vendors, and ensuring continuity of operations — not simply reactive to support requests. Familiarity with key platforms (Microsoft 365, MIP Fund Accounting, QuickBooks Online, Paychex) is valued; where deep software expertise is needed, vendor support resources are available. Candidates with fuel-retail IT experience are eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated experience with hardware support, configuration, and maintenance in a multi-site or multi-organization environment;
Proven ability to install, manage, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN networks, routers, switches, and wireless systems;
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 including Teams, SharePoint, and the Office suite;
Familiarity with business software platforms including QuickBooks Online, MIP Fund Accounting (Aatrix/Sage), AccuFund, and Paychex; ability to support end users and coordinate with vendors for deeper technical issues;
Strong sense of ownership — proactive in identifying and resolving issues before they become problems, without needing to be directed;
Ability to manage vendor relationships, coordinate service calls, and oversee technology procurement;
Must provide great customer service — approachable, patient, and responsive to staff and leadership at all levels; able to communicate clearly with non-technical users and make them feel supported, not talked down to;
Ability to prioritize and manage responsibilities across three organizations independently;
Preferred: experience with fuel-retail POS systems, ATG/fuel monitoring, PCI-DSS compliance, and segmented network design;
Ability to respond promptly to technology emergencies during the work week;
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of an Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; OR a minimum of 3 years' demonstrated experience in a comparable IT support role;
Must be computer literate and proficient across standard business software platforms;
Must pass a pre-employment drug test as a condition of employment;
In and out-of-state travel may be required;
Must be able to pass a background check;
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have a valid New Mexico Driver's License and be insurable under NPHE's Business insurance policy.
Must pass a pre-employment drug test as a condition of employment.
