About the Position

Hammer & Nails Studio City is seeking a talented, professional, and guest-focused licensed Barber or Hairstylist to join our team.

We provide premium men’s grooming services in an upscale, relaxing environment. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, communicates well with guests, supports the team, and is motivated to build a loyal clientele through excellent service, rebooking, memberships, and product recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality men’s haircuts, fades, scissor cuts, styling, beard trims, and grooming services.
• Conduct a professional consultation before each service.
• Recommend styles and services based on the guest’s preferences, hair type, lifestyle, and maintenance needs.
• Deliver a consistent luxury guest experience from consultation through checkout.
• Educate guests about appropriate home-care and grooming products.
• Encourage guests to rebook their next appointment.
• Introduce membership options when appropriate and explain the benefits accurately.
• Maintain detailed guest notes, including preferences, formulas, service history, and relevant conditions.
• Follow all sanitation, disinfection, safety, and California licensing requirements.
• Keep the station, tools, treatment areas, and shared spaces clean and organized.
• Arrive on time and be prepared before the scheduled shift.
• Follow opening, closing, laundry, inventory, and other assigned operational duties.
• Participate in training, team meetings, promotions, events, and performance reviews.
• Support coworkers and contribute to a respectful, professional, and positive workplace.

Qualifications

• Current California Barber or Cosmetology license.
• Experience with men’s haircuts, fades, scissor work, beard grooming, and styling.
• Strong consultation and customer-service skills.
• Professional appearance and communication.
• Dependable, punctual, organized, and team-oriented.
• Comfortable recommending retail products, memberships, and future appointments.
• Able to maintain sanitation and service standards in a busy environment.
• Willing to work weekends and other high-demand periods.
• Existing clientele is helpful but not required.

Schedule

Hammer & Nails Studio City operates Wednesday through Monday and is closed on Tuesdays. Candidates must have flexibility to work weekends and peak business hours.
